I could be wrong but the Steam Summer Sale may be starting tomorrow, Thu 19th.
Deals will go live at 6pm BST if so :thumb:

So far I've only picked up Red Alert 3 for when I'm in the mood for some cheesy Cold War humor. Unfortunately I think my RA2 CDs are long gone by now.

Has anyone been watching the GOG sales? They've got some fantastic flash deals going on. So far I've picked up:

King of Dragon Pass - Unlikely contender for my favorite game this year, well worth $1.50. A bit of a Civ/Oregon Trail hybrid with fantastic writing that makes the world come alive.
Red Faction - I enjoyed Guerrilla when I played it on Xbox 5 years ago. I've always wanted to play the original, but never got around to it.

And in their "insomnia sale" from last month, I snagged:

Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves - When it came out, I thought it was one of the most interesting indie games of 2013, and it did not disappoint. Brilliantly fun little action-strategy hybrid. Planning is everything.
Shelter - I was always interested in this, but its supposedly very short length put me off. The price was right, though. I'll likely give this a spin after I finish Dreamfall.

GOG also has some free games rotating through the day, earlier they had Omerta City of Gangsters and right now Still Life 2

Damn I missed that.
It's not supposed to be very good from what I understand but for free I wouldn't have minded trying it at some point. My backlog is already pretty huge though so not to worry I guess heh.

I haven't picked much up from the steam sale so far but mostly because I already own a lot of the deals I'd be interested in. Bought these though:

- Prison Architect
- Rocksmith 2014 DLC
- Skullgirls + DLC
- Outlast: Whistleblower DLC
- The Blackwell Bundle
- Rayman Legends

Waiting to see if Child of Light gets a deal.
I'd buy some of the CoD games but they're always so expensive even with the discounts applied. <censored> Activision.

The sale hasn't been great thus far being honest...

That said, I did pick up a real gem in The Stanley Parable. If any of you have yet to play that, I highly recommend it. Probably one of the most unique and enjoyable gaming experiences I've had in a while.

Sadly somewhat short, but well worth the time and money!

Which games have you been waiting to see get a daily/flash/community deal mate?. Any in particular?
Do think you should have grabbed XCOM: Enemy Unknown the other day tbh but there's a high chance it'll be repeated as a flash/community deal at some point before Monday. I don't generally like turn-based RTS at all but XCOM surprised the hell out of me. I only bought it to see what all the fuss was about but I'm so glad I did as it was pretty damn great. Worth a gamble of £3.74 if that deal gets repeated ;)
The Rayman Legends flash deal was worth picking up for 6 quid as well the other night/morning, which may also get repeated but as a daily next time. Will have to see.. I played a lot of that on my Mum's Wii U and it was even better than Origins :)

I was going to get Child of Light but since it's only 25% off I'll wait until the Christmas sale before I pick that up methinks.
I bought The Stanley Parable in the last sale but that's one of the many games in my backlog waiting to be played. It got a lot of praise at release though so good to see you have been enjoying it too!

(Bought Valiant Hearts: The Great War too but that was just released yesterday, not in the sale)

I dunno if it's still going, but Battle Block Theater and Castle Crashers were in a sweet bundle and the castle Crashers DLC was 75% off.

None in particular. I just tend to watch out for any that appeal to me and go for them. Only picked up The Stanley Parable on a friend's recommendation but thankfully that turned out to be a gem! Seriously recommend you spend some time on that - it's only 3/4 hours long :)

As for XCOM...mmm, I keep looking back at it but I really, really hate tactical strategy games which is what's holding me back. Might end up getting it yet, but I really have no enthusiasm for it :(

If one of the next set of community votes wins, XCOM will go cheaper again from 10am - 6pm :)

The community vote does have it down as 67% off this time around though (it was 75% originally). Would still be worth it at that price (I paid full retail when I risked trying it and didn't regret it one bit), but hopefully it's a mistake and will be 75 again at £3.74. Will find out in a few hours should that category get picked.

I ultimately picked up FarCry 3. Still not 100% sure it'll be for me, but for £3...felt like it was stupid not to buy it. Kahn mentioned Skyrim, but I think people know how I feel about Bethesda games :p

Still don't think the sale was that good this time round unfortunately. Roll on Christmas I guess!

Did you buy it? Game is probably a must buy for me based on its E3 performance, though I haven't preordered just yet!

Shadow of Mordor, Alien and DA:I are all out on the same day though if I've got my dates right so it's going to be a tough choice deciding which to play first haha.

Redeems on Steam as usual. The GOTY edition includes all DLC which I'd consider a must play, really expands and completes the story.
I'm late with posting this so deal ends in 4hrs 10mins from posting.

Let us know how you find the new Wolfenstein btw, Anny!. It won't be my GOTY but it's a fun game none the less! :thumb:

Nothing wrong with the Sims :)
Whilst it's true that I haven't played the series for some years now and all but skipped TS3, I was a huge fan of the first two games and used to play them pretty much every day. Definitely considering buying The Sims 4 in Sep and jumping back in. I'm a little disappointed by a couple of things (like the missing pools which have been there since day1) but the build mode looks fantastic this time around, as well as create-a-sim.
