Great choice. The Wolf Among Us is definitely in my top 5 games for this year, damn good stuff. Hope you enjoy! :thumb:

Can't say I've really been following Type-0 HD but I hope the demo of FFXV becomes available to everyone else later on as well.
[Edit: Seems not]

We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early — the demo will be limited to the "Day One" edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it. So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015.
Meh....

Also for those who missed the tweet - the Christmas/Winter Steam sale will begin next Thu (18th) at 6pm GMT ;)

Thanks, I bought it largely off of your recommendation

BTW Steam is soon to be offering game auctions, utilizing a currency called Gems.
These Gems seem to be largely made by converting the collectible junk built up in account inventories.

I had just under 5k gems worth of inventory stuff to convert, which doesn't seem much when you see some of the top bids lol. I've put a bid on something though so will see if I win! :)

I'd really, really love to own one. But not for £80 more than retail :(

Thanks though!

I haven't read all the small print but:
In celebration of PlayStation's 20th Birthday we are selling 100 20th Anniversary Edition PlayStation 4's for £399.99. For your chance to purchase one of these exclusive consoles please fill in the below form
The first 100 people to submit the completed form will be contacted via email within 24 hours and will then be given a call by a member of the GAME team to complete the purchase.
But don't fret - if you aren't one of the lucky 100, you will be automatically entered into our prize draw where 1 winner will be chosen at random to win a 20th Anniversary Edition PlayStation 4!
I take "to win" to mean win one for free, rather than become eligible to buy one like the first 100 :)

HumbleBumble
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Directors Cut $5(US)
Phenomenal game, its a steal @ $5

Dungeon Siege III $3.74
Not as good as DS2, but still a decent Diablo knock off, esp. for only $4

Steam
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance $5.99(US)
Am buying this now, has good reviews.

Castle Crashers $3.74 w/all DLC $5.73
Really good console port/co-op game.
Its worth it if you have a family HTPC or controllers.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition $4.99
Standard fighting game, with an unusual twist,
It has a good storyline attached, esp. if you are a DC fan.

Will be buying Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes later. Admittedly quite short, but I still got a lot of play out of it on PS4 earlier this year :)
I've got over 230hrs on Rocksmith 2014 as well so I'd recommend that too!

Door Kickers is kinda tempting...

I know it's not a daily, but I'm thinking of picking up GTA3 and Vice City for PC.

Only a couple of quid each, and I've not played Vice City in years!

Always wait for the dailies. That's the no.1 rule of the Steam sales :)
They might be dirt cheap right now but If GTA gets a daily (or community deal) they will go even cheaper. The site wide general sale discounts will be available until the sale ends on Jan 2nd so there's no harm in waiting to see if they get a better deal with a daily. And if they don't? then you buy those titles on the last day of the sale before the general discounts get removed. By doing that you ensure you get what you want for the best price during the Sale and save the most money.

So yeah. If you see something you want during a Steam sale and it hasn't been a daily, wait. Never buy before unless you want to be kicking yourself later.

Only bought a couple so far:

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes | £11.38
Door Kickers | £7.49

I'd never heard of Door Kickers before but it reminded me very much of the old-school R6/SWAT games, but from a top-down strategy like perspective. Reviews for it seem very favourable so I thought I'd grab that whilst it was one of the 12hr deals.
I already have Ground Zeroes for the PS4 but I'd like to support Kojima & co for bringing one of my all time favourite series to PC so I don't mind double dipping on it. I'll be doing the same for GTAV next month. Should be able to play GZ maxed out at 4K as well so it should offer a much improved experience on PC!

I'll let you know after I've played The Stanley Parable from my backlog, Pad lol :D (Got it installed now).
Seriously though, I played a couple of non-campaign missions over the weekend but that's about it really. Need to spend some more time with it. Seems pretty good from what I have seen of it though. Lots of customization for your team like with gadgets, silenced pistol, different armor vests etc. Have to really plan your moves well like the old tactical R6 games which is good. Can't just run & gun it heh. It does kinda throw all the controls at you at once mind so I need to take another look at those.

I've recommended it a few times now but one of the 12hr dalies atm is The Wolf Among Us for 75% off (£4.74). It will be at that price for the next 6 hours and 40 minutes so do consider buying it if you don't already own it. I'd happily still pay full price for it myself so it's definitely worth grabbing for less than a fiver and the whole season is out so you don't have to wait for any other episodes to release :thumb:
Valiant Hearts: The Great War is worth picking up for £4.79 as well but if it's one or the other I'd definitely go with Wolf. (deal will end at the same time).

Haven't bought it yet but I'm going to add Never Alone to my list above methinks.

Already pointed them out to Anny on IRC but for anyone else - As GTA4 is one of today's dailies, other games in the series are included in that too so Vice City & GTA3 are now 75% off (£1.49 each) for the next 48hrs :thumb:

Think I'm about done with the sales now, here's my haul!
  • Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
  • Door Kickers
  • Never Alone
  • Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (GMG)
  • Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series
  • Divinity: Original Sin
  • This War of Mine
  • Tales from the Borderlands [Edit]
Waiting to see if Tales from the Borderlands gets a daily as well (will grab it on the last day of the sale if there isn't one) but I don't think I'll be buying anything else other than that now. After playing The Wolf Among Us & both seasons of The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones & Tales from the Borderlands were the main two I was specifically looking to get. Absolutely loving Telltale's output atm so wanted to make sure I got those 2 at least, the rest were just a bonus really. Honestly one of my favourite developers right now :)
[Edit: They must have heard me again :D

If it gets a daily, Invisible, Inc. would be tempting too (it lost the community vote it was in) but it's still in early access atm so I think I'll probably wait for that one. Not like my backlog isn't big enough as it is heh.

Made a fiver in steam wallet money from selling cards & gems and spent £89 actual cash on the above (including TFTB). This lot would have come to £150 outside of the sale so a pretty good saving there I think! :thumb:

If you haven't bought much from the sales and have a bit of money left to spend on another game or two, have a look at This War of Mine.
Jim's review too.

I only looked at it myself as I've watched Lirik stream it before today and up until then I'd never come across it before. As such, I'm guessing it has gone mostly unnoticed to some of you as well. I started playing it yesterday though and would definitely recommend from what I've played of it :thumb:
Played the first episode of Tales from the Borderlands as well. Not quite up there with TWD or The Wolf Among Us just yet (hope some of you bought those during the sales!) but there's only 1 playable ep so far so we'll have to wait and see how the series as a whole turns out. Plays very much like the other Telltale games we've had recently though but also screams Borderlands with its style, characters and great humour. They've done a really good job mixing the two. Looking forward to playing the rest :)
