Stonehearth (linked in the post above) reached its funding goal earlier and is well on its way through stretch goals now! :D

Stonehearth didn't say masses to me, I'll be honest.

Glad to see it succeeding though. Hope those who did back it enjoy :)

The Realm Game wrote:Dearest Backers,

So we've reach the end of our Kickstarter campaign and we must thank-you so much for all your amazing support throughout the last 30 days. You are all incredible. It didn't end up the way we would have liked it but still we achieved an amazing amount of pledges and that is all thanks to you. For example did you know we are one of the top funded UK game Kickstarters ever!?

We may not have have won the battle but the war is not over yet!

The lack of US payments was a crucial factor in hurting our campaign. So we plan to relaunch the campaign later this year with a US account. Also a lot of you wanted to see some game footage so we are going to work on that too and come back stronger!

Of course we will need to call on your kind generosity once again - so we will be in touch!

We don't want to rely on Kickstarter to be able to contact you, so *please* connect with us on one of more of our channels:

We've created a mailing list you can sign up to here: http://eepurl.com/y_2mH

Also we still have our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/therealmgame and our twitter account @TheRealmGame

Speak soon and thanks once again!

The Realm Team
Shame they didn't get it funded this time but thinking about it I reckon this was for the best actually and could benefit themselves and everyone else in the long run. I don't think they'll have any problems reaching their goal when they relaunch it with a US account and can accept Amazon payments too. This should attract tons more people plus they already have us guys to start the ball rolling from day 1 as well.
I don't have Facebook or Twitter accounts so I'll sign up for their mailing list and keep my ear out for when they relaunch :)

Clearly they just didn't get out there enough. Sad really as it looked really interesting, but when the only time I'd heard of it was when you mentioned it....and it's an adventure game too, which is hardly a popular genre. Yeah, it was coming.

Hope they do better on attempt 2!

For what it's worth, Soul Saga is working its way through stretch goals now :)

Here's another two whilst I'm here:

SATELLITE REIGN
A real-time, class-based strategy game, set in an open world cyberpunk city, from the creator of Syndicate Wars.

^Backed this so damn hard.

TAXI JOURNEY
A cross between an adventure game and a platformer set in a universe that combines charm, humor and mystery.

One more for anyone reading these:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/445 ... monochroma

and an update on the above...
- Soul Saga was funded with lots of stretch goals reached!
- Taxi Journey kickstarter was cancelled but that was never going to reach its goal.
- Frozen State has 5 days left but probably won't make it either unfortunately.
- Satellite Reign is at 67% with another 12 days left, really hope that makes it but I reckon they'll manage it. Will be very disappointed if not!. Anyone else back this or Soul Saga btw? :)

Did anyone donate to Star Citizen/ Squadron 42?
If so, have you downloaded the Hanger and what are your impressions?

Yes, I pledged to SC/S42. I have not downloaded the hanger yet as the Cutlass wasn't available at the time for hanger view and I didn't care much to view my 300i. Cutlass will be where most of my time will be spent.

Cheers Mech,
I pledged for the Hornet (Colonel) package, looks good, a bit buggy but generally impressed.
Some of the you tube footage for the other ships look pretty good.

I'm just waiting on Variants for the Hornet, because I think the F7C-M is where I want to be.

:thumb:

Update: got home to find the variants have been released, how prophetic I am.
Upgraded to Super Hornet

I originally pledged 300i but the more I saw about pirating and the potential to board and steal ships I added on the Cutlass with Pirate package so I had both 300i and Cutlass with LTI. Guess maybe I should look into downloading the hanger at some point.

I've pledged.......to much for SC/S42. The ships in the hangar look awesome even if you are currently limited to just entering them and looking around. Cutlass is just a statue atm till they finish it. Hornet variants just got released today.

Okay Chaos I'll confess there is more in my hanger than a Hornet, how much more I'm not divulging at this point

Also I've just spotted that one of the strectch goals was to add a FPS side to the game.

This reminds me of something from way back old school SSC,
I can't remember the name but it was a ground based mod/ game based on the Freespace Universe.

If I recall correctly we were able to download a demo on the site and run around a hanger.

Anyway it could be interesting with regards SQ42/SC for ship boarding actions etc.
They are using the Crytek engine so it should work.

A shame that we're still a few years away from a beta. I'd really like to see how this game is coming along and am hoping that CR is able to actually achieve his vision this time around instead of producing a half-assed game like he did with Starlancer.

Well I know it is Alpha, but there will be the dogfighting patch released fairly soon, where you get a chance to fly in the game engine.
This will be a similar peek into whats going on as the Hanger Build was.

Its actually weird and refreshing, due to the way it is funded, how they are approaching the development and keeping their backers (Joe Public) informed.

Star Citizen is the first game I ever crowdfunded (and only Dreamfall Chapters since). I put in for the basic package with the Aurora and Alpha/Beta access. I've been taking peeks at the site occasionally but I don't really keep up with the emails. I'm hoping to jump right into the game from the beginning, as a new experience.

I'm more than fine with delays because as Mech said, Chris Roberts traditionally has been cut short by time and budget constraints. He seems to have quite a bit of money this time around, so I hope he puts in the necessary time. That, and the fact that my current PC doesn't meet the projected minimum requirements. :p

Yeah, it's Gaius Baltar. But I only just started watching the series this year. :D

Reading your first post, I thought you meant my SSX star avatar wasn't a unique identifier. But you seriously are just now watching BSG? For shame! If you ask me, it's the best TV show of all time. I should start rewatching it soon. Already watched the entire show 3 times through.

If you saw what my back catalog looked like for series to watch you'd be shocked. I just wrapped up s3 of TWD so now it's back to BSG and s5 of Doctor Who. Then there's Breaking Bad, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, News Radio, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, The Wire, Sons of Anarchy...just to name a few.

BSG <3
I was admittedly a little disappointed with the last season or so of BSG, and the finale as well to a degree I suppose (which I know some people felt was a bit of a cop out too due to certain "answers"), but all being said it was a really, really great show. I doubt I would ever have watched had it not been recommended to me by Anny some years ago now either. It had many of the same draws to it that Lost did for me, very character driven, mystery, intrigue and twists. Was easy to get hooked on heh, loved it.
Whilst I wouldn't put it alongside my top 3 (The Sopranos, Breaking Bad & The Wire), since for me personally those represent the very best of the best of what tv has to offer, I'd still say it's one of my favs and buying that complete blu-ray boxset for Xmas '09 was definitely one of the best blind buys I've ever done. I'm currently watching my boxset for Homicide: Life on the Street atm along with Classic Doctor Who (with Oz to follow, and a Breaking Bad rewatch as soon as that releases next month as well) but once I've done with some of those I should probably rewatch BSG. Has been a while now!

(Baltar was the best character in the show too imo. Probably followed by Col. Tigh for me.

Oh the subject of Kickstarters. I didn't back Star Citizen myself as it didn't look like something that would particularly appeal to me tbh. Their vision for it is pretty impressive though I will admit.
I haven't posted any projects since the summer but I've backed a few others since which have all been funded:
The Long Dark
Hyper Light Drifter
Mighty No.9
Project Phoenix
Ghost Song
Little Witch Academia 2
