JUNE 14TH - 16TH | LIVE STAGE DEMOS
STREAMS: YOUTUBE · TWITCH · GIANT BOMB · GAMESPOT · IGN

I will update the schedule with times for Sony, Nintendo & Square Enix as soon as they've been announced, they're just listed as "TBC" for now & on the days they are expected to be held. There are a couple of changes from last years schedule; Some of the times are different for a start (more EU friendly) but EA are now on the Sunday with Bethesda (they're usually inbetween MS & Ubi on the Monday) & the PC Gaming Show is returning but on the Monday rather than Tuesday.
As we all know, GameTrailers is no more so it's going to be a little weird without their streams to add into the mix this year. We should still have plenty of live coverage though & links for which will be added/updated nearer the time should they need to be. Geoff Keighley was hosting over on YouTube last year so I'm hoping he will be again this year too. Guess we'll see in the coming weeks!

When a stream has ended and an archived video becomes available I will update to which will link to said video, just incase there's a conference you've missed & want to watch it back.
If you are planning to watch live on the other hand (yay), feel free to hang out with us on Discord. E3 is always more enjoyable and memorable when watching & commenting live with you guys each year (those of you who stuck around for Sony's conference last year will agree, I am sure <3) so the more the merrier. Stick it in your diary! :thumb:

What are you all expecting to see at this years E3? What do you think will be shown? Is there anything you're hoping will be announced? - Come share your thoughts in the run-up to this years biggest gaming event :)

Well, here's some of what I'm hoping for :)

General:
 • Dishonored 2 - Gameplay demo & release date
 • Cyberpunk 2077 - Story & gameplay trailers
 • VR Games - Mainly for the Oculus Rift but interested in PlayStation VR too
 • Final Fantasy VII Remake - New trailer, some gameplay & release date for EP1 Disc 1
 • Battlefield 5 - Full reveal & release date, hoping the WW1 rumour is true
 • Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom - New trailer & release window
 • The Tomorrow Children - Release date
 • Cuphead - Release date
 • Shenmue 3 - Story trailer
 • The Last Guardian - New gameplay demo & release date
 • Watch Dogs 2 - Full reveal & release date
 • Mass Effect Andromeda - Full reveal & release window
 • Persona 5 - Release date
 • Nioh - Gameplay demo & release date
 • Pikmin 4 - First trailer & release window
 • South Park: The Fractured But Whole - Gameplay demo & release date
 • Horizon: Zero Dawn - New gameplay demo & release date
 • PS4K details. Hoping for some kind of upgrade program
Want to see announced:
 • Red Dead Redemption 2
 • The Last of Us 2
 • Bloodborne 2
 • Alan Wake 2
 • Hideo Kojima's new game
 • A new Rayman game
 • Shenmue 1 & 2 HD
 • Final Fantasy XII HD
Since I got FFVII Remake, Shenmue 3 & TLG all from Sony's conference last year, this year I'm hoping Half-Life 3 & Beyond Good & Evil 2 show up :p

I can't believe this has come round so quick this year. Feels like last year's was yesterday, and I've not given any thought to what I want this year yet :(

Looking at your list though, and putting my brain in overdrive, I'd say the following wouldn't go amiss for me:
 • Cyberpunk 2077 - Trailers, I expect nothing else
 • Vampyr - As above, though I'd take anything
 • South Park: The Fractured But Whole - Expecting gameplay demo, would be fine with just another trailer
 • Horizon: Zero Dawn - Even though I can't play it, would love to see more
 • Persona 5 - Story info would be nice
 • Final Fantasy X HD - Steam release date
 • Details of the next Rocksteady project, whatever it is
 • Life Is Strange Season 2 - ANYTHING PLEASE GOD
 • Full Throttle Remastered - Confirmation of it
 • Psychonauts 2 - Pipedream, but I'd take anything
 • Dawn of War 3 - Unlikely given the recent trailer, but I'd like gameplay details (specifically how it's going to be like 1, not 2)
I'm not sure there is much more for me atm...not much else catching my eye that I can think of, and not hunkered down waiting for much this year if I'm honest. I've probably forgotten stuff though!

Last year's can't be topped. They shouldn't even try.

There's a few there which I hadn't thought of, Anny!
Not sure how big Dontnod are tbh so not sure whether it would be too soon to start hearing anything about a second series of Life is Strange, what with them mostly talking about Vampyr atm it seems. Maybe just a confirmation that one is "in the works" or something? Really hoping we get something on Vampyr though at least, that is sounding very, very promising from the few bits & pieces I've read! (Their art direction reminds me a little of Dishonored too <3)

Rocksteady's next project - Hadn't thought of this but yeah, I hope so too. Should be interesting (knowing that whatever it is, it won't be Batman) but I'm hoping it's something completely different.

Few others on your list I'd forgotten about too. And aye, BD, I doubt last years can ever be topped. Saying that though, one would assume we'll get to see even more of those games (TLG & FFVII Remake for example) this year :D

M.Steiner wrote:

 • Persona 5 - Release date
Persona 5 is getting some kind of announcement this Thu (guessing the release date) & at 9pm BST on Fri (iirc), the new Battlefield is going to be revealed. Assuming this new BF title interests me, I'm hoping now that they have a lengthy live gameplay demo at E3 instead, since they'll have already got the reveal out of the way. So many rumours going around atm about it though, WW1, WW2, alternate history WW1 etc. Would prefer something like that to another modern day BF, or one set in the future. Guess we'll see in a few days!

If Battlefield is there, I'd be very surprised if there weren't a lengthy gameplay demo.

That kind of game, trailers just don't do anything for I think. I can't remember the last big show I saw them reveal one with just trailers rather than gameplay!

So if it's there, I think you'll be in luck :)

That's true! Looking forward to tomorrows reveal & E3 even more now that the WW1 rumour points to being true - someone discovered this achievement image on EA's servers:

Nintendo have just announced their plans for E3, Nintendo Treehouse: Live. This show will be introduced by Reggie and will be giving an in-depth look at The Legend of Zelda with live streamed gameplay, commentaries etc throughout the day. (Will add times into the schedule above in a mo).

Just Sony to announce now (and Square Enix if they're having one) :)

Sunday's schedule updated too!
We've now got the EA conference, a livestream of Battlefield 1's multiplayer, our first proper look at Mafia 3's gameplay & then finishing off with Bethesda.

Will definitely be watching all of those! [Bethesda as well cos of Dishonored 2 ;)]

I don't give a crap about Bethesda either to be honest (more so after Fallout 4. Hell, Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine on their own were better), only watching for Dishonored 2 ;)
The trainwrecks & commentary from those of us watching are are all part of the fun too! lol

Any surprises aside, it's Battlefield 1, Mafia 3 & Dishonored 2 I'm specifically watching for tonight. Anything else is a bonus :)

Highlights for Sun:

BATTLEFIELD 1 MAFIA 3 DISHONORED 2
More gameplay was shown too, can see it here (Dishonored 2 was the last thing they showed so skip towards the end)
FE PREY
From Arkane Studios (Dishonored). Chris Avellone is working on it too ;))
It's almost 5am so off to bed! Hope to see a few more of you on Discord for the big conferences tonight :)

I thought Sunday was pretty dreadful, but been impressed by a few things so far tonight.
 • We Happy Few from the MS conference looks amazing and I badly want to play it.
 • South Park The Fractured But Whole from Ubisoft looks AWESOME.
 • Star Trek VR from Ubisoft appeals to me.
 • Vampyr from the PC show I really want to play, reminds me of Bloodlines.
 • Tyranny from the PC show looks decent.
 • Gwent from the MS conference I want.
 • Horizon Zero Dawn from Sony I NEED to play.
 • The new God of War from Sony looks great.
 • Detroit from Sony is a must buy for me.
 • Crash Bandicoot from Sony is very tempting...

Yep, there wasn't one bad thing at Sony. Great job as always.

Lacking the surprises that made last year so epic, but that was always going to be the case.

I'll post my usual conference reviews when I feel less like death

NINTENDO #8
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Watching the gameplay demo if it and it actually looks wonderful tbh. Would pick it up if I owned a console of theirs.

Is that really all they brought to show at the years biggest gaming event though? I'd be so <censored> disappointed if I was a Wii U owner (again). I actually feel guilty after watching this. So many games on my own list but I always watch Nintendo to see what my Mum might like (aside from my curiosity), as she has a Wii U herself. Pikmin 4 was one thing she was hoping to see this year yet apart from Zelda, I'll be reporting back with absolutely nothing.... Nintendo should just give up.

BETHESDA #7
Dishonored 2 - Dishonored was (and still is) one of my favourite games of all time so this was definitely a highlight for me. The first had gorgeous art direction, amazing gameplay, great lore, freedom of choice and top tier level design. I know a few people weren't so keen on the main story (although this came together really well with the DLC and made it complete, if you didn't play that), but Dishonored 2 looks bigger & better than ever. Great to finally see it in action.

Prey - I never played the original game (as it looked like shit lol) but the trailer for this reboot looked great before I knew it was Prey, and I trust Arkane & Chris Avellone to deliver on it so... Yeah, a nice surprise there.

Arkane's content was the only stuff of note here for me, disappointing otherwise. Dishonored 2 gameplay was all I wanted from it though & I got it, so I'm happy enough.

ELECTRONIC ARTS #6
Battlefield 1 - Great trailer from the conference but the one hour multiplayer livestream they did afterwards was just what I needed to see. I hope some other people here will be getting it on release!

Fe - Beautiful looking game which came across like a mix of Journey & Ori, 2 of my favourite games.

Mass Effect: Andromeda - I'll include this but I was really hoping to see a bit more from it. Less behind the scenes/dev stuff and more game footage. Something I'll be keeping my eye on though, definitely.

Given how BF1 was given its own dedicated event (which I did prefer as we got to see far more of it had it been shown during the main show), the conference itself was pretty underwhelming. Less talk, less behind the scenes and CGI, more gameplay footage and demos.

MICROSOFT #5
We Happy Few - I already knew about this as I was a Kickstarter backer (I did tweet about it once or twice but they must have gone unseen. I should have posted) but even still, this looks better each time I've seen it and has been coming along beautifully since the KS. One of my top highlights of all E3 tbh.

Gwent - Spent many, many hours with Gwent in TW3, have pre-ordered the physical decks whilst they were available and to have a standalone, expanded game of it will be a must for me.

Inside - Hard to judge from the little that was shown (more screenshots etc on Steam though) but I loved Limbo so will probably check this out.

ReCore This has caught my eye before too, looks like it could be special.

Not much else for me other than the above), not a fan of Gears, Scalebound had potential but the demo was awful... I have a capable PC so there's still no reason for me to ever consider buying an Xbox One. Nice to see it's all "Xbox One / Windows 10" but then they don't have much choice when they're losing this generation as badly as they have been doing.

PC GAMING SHOW #4
Vampyr - A little rough around the edges (it was pre-alpha footage though so that can be forgiven). Love the art style & setting, a little Bloodborne meets Bloodlines.

Dawn of War 3 - Loved the first game, skipped the second, third game is looking & sounding quite promising from what we've seen. Battles look epic, base building has been confirmed to be in and it looks fantastic visually too.

Observer - Need to see more of this but it definitely caught my attention and wouldn't say no to a cyberpunk horror.

The Surge - Lords of the Fallen wasn't anything special but I did enjoy bits of it even though I was disappointed by it. Still, I'm willing to give them another chance here. (Afterall, Remember Me from Dontnod was very much the same but then they delivered with Life is Strange...). Anyway this new game comes across as a Sci-Fi Dark Souls so that's enough to interest me. Will keep watch.

Missed the end of this due to it running into the beginning of Ubi's conference (who's bright idea was that? Will be watching it back later though), but they did have a lot to show and a few things that caught my eye. An improvement over last year too I think, and the format change helps break up all the other conferences.

UBISOFT #3
Watch Dogs 2 - I enjoyed the first game but like a lot of people I was left disappointed by it. All the right ideas were there, it just didn't fully deliver on them, its main protagonist was generic as hell and its story fell flat. I said it at the time though (and again since), but the jump from Assassin's Creed 1 to 2 is something to remember. I actually dropped AC1 the first time I picked it up, but they really built on that and came back with a bang with AC2. Watch Dogs 2 seems like it's going to do the same as what they've been showing looks massively improved imo. 2 of the developers will be talking about it on a stream tonight too, at 10pm BST.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole - Maybe not my #1 game for E3 but probably the best presentation. Game looks absolutely hilarious once again.

Ghost Recon Wildlands - Didn't look as visually impressive as last time but it's better than showing us bullshots right? I'm not sure whether I'll actually get this but I liked what I saw and I can see it being fun if played with friends.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew - Not a fan of ST but this looked like it could be interesting in theory. Need to see more.

Sure they had some crap in there but they had some good things to show too, some surprises and a couple "main highlight of E3" moments as well. Not as strong as previous years though.

MAFIA 3 REVEAL #2
Not at a conference but a little livestreamed event of its own and something worth including imo. Massive fan of the first 2 games and the third game looks absolutely fantastic too. The soundtrack alone is going to be amazing!

SONY #1
Everything.
As I do with every show, I start writing down the names of games I've liked the look of so I don't forget them; either to make sure I continue to follow them (if we've only had a little teaser and I want to see more), or to add them to my "to buy list" if I've already been sold on something. I was writing down pretty much every game from Sony's conference lol.

God of War - I've never played a God of War game before but this new one will be my first. Was very, very impressed by that.

Detroit - I know their games aren't everybody's cup of tea but I adored Heavy Rain & Beyond and Detroit looks just as amazing. Looks to be some big choices in there. Love the setting.

Resident Evil 7 - Huge surprise for me and they did a really good job of revealing that imo. Was very intrigued by what I was seeing, thinking it was some new IP in the same vein as P.T and was NOT expecting to see Resi Evil's name appear at the end. Those games have been on the decline for a while though and whilst this may not fit the usual Resi Evil 3rd person formula (I'm sure some people will be against it because of that), I'm all for this. Tried the demo today as well which was great. Very atomspheric.

Horizon: Zero dawn looking stunning once again, sooo happy to have a release date for The Last Guardian, Kojima's game looks very, very interesting from the trailer but really need to see more, Crash remasters will be a must & Batman: Arkham VR from Rocksteady could potentially be amazing!
Not a huge fan of zombie stuff but
Days Gone didn't look bad at all either (and very pretty actually), Spiderman game looked fun as hell and I'm not a Spiderman fan and I couldn't believe that demo we saw was of CoD either lol.

Really strong showing from Sony once again. It was never going to beat the bombs of last year but game after game, no filler crap inbetween and everything they showed was worth showing. A very happy & excited PS4 owner.

Ok, my thoughts on both conferences and my picks of the show. MS, I'm nicking part of your formatting for this because it looks awesome as usual :D
#1 SONY - 10/10
It's important to look at Sony's conference in a detached way. A lot of people will say it wasn't as good as last year, and it wasn't, but no matter what they'd done it would never have been able to top last year. As I said beforehand, they shouldn't even try, and they didn't. You can't compare the two conferences, you have to rate it on it's own merits - and on those, it gets full marks.

The orchestra was a really cool touch overall (despite my thinking it was very gimmicky at the start), and it was great to not have to sit through tons of talking for once too. Just an hour and a quarter of solid games. And boy what games there were. There was nothing at this show that didn't look great. Graphically everything shown blew everything else at E3 out of the water, and my list of stuff to buy doubled through this conference. Great job.

My only niggle was that it felt short. Reportedly though Sony had a surprise big hitter lined up to close the show which got pulled at the last minute. Very curious to know what that was, and it explains a lot.

HIGHLIGHTS:
 • Everything. There wasn't a bad thing on this show, even the stuff that didn't really suit me.
 • Kojima's return from exile was pretty cool and well done.
 • The first 4 games shown particularly made for an immensely excellent first 30 minutes.
 • The Resident Evil reveal. It's not my kind of game but that was a superb reveal, got to say.
 • The orchestra. They did a great job.

TO BUY LIST:
 • A PS4 (soon as I get a house...)
 • Horizon: Zero Dawn
 • Detroit
 • God of War
 • Crash Bandicoot Remaster
 • CoD Infinite Warfare - maybe anyway! Very tempted!
 • SpiderMan - if it turns out as good as it looked
#2 MICROSOFT - 8/10
This was a pretty solid conference from MS I felt, even though as usual it wasn't really aimed at me. They had a ton to show here, but Microsoft doesn't really seem to do the kind of games that I play much anymore sadly. I feel that what they did have will resonate strongly. Stuff like Gears, Forza, Tekken, Halo Wars are very big for their audience. Also, Scorpion could be a game changer, and they had the largest lineup of titles at any conference this year. They hit all the bases.

As an Xbox owner I think I'd be pretty upset at the Crossplay focus though, as (as BD said on Discord) it basically means that there's no such thing as Xbox Exclusives anymore. Knocked a point off for that as it detracts from the console's appeal to non-owners surely if they have PCs.

It's a shame that the only things I really want to buy from this conference are Indy/smaller titles, but that doesn't detract from it being a good conference - hence why it's rated above Ubi even though Ubi had more than interested me personally.

HIGHLIGHTS:
 • We Happy Few. I'd never heard of this (sorry MS) and the demo blew me away. Absolute must buy, best thing they had by far.
 • Got to say the Project Scorpion announcement was a win, and a big one given the specs. "Highest quality pixels" claim aside.
 • Final Fantasy 15 crashing and burning in the worst way possible with a horrendous looking demo.
 • Crossplay. It's cool to finally have that as a PC gamer. Having PC talked about at the MS presser is usually very rare.

TO BUY LIST:
 • We Happy Few
 • Gwent
 • Sea of Thieves (maybe...I want to see more of it first)
#3 UBISOFT - 7/10
What can I say, this was a solid press conference as usual from Ubi. I didn't think it was out of this world though. They had a solid lineup, plenty of content, the usual too much of Aisha, covered all bases be it casual, hardcore or VR.

So yeah, solid year. I'll be playing at least a couple of Ubi games this year based on this conference, maybe even a couple more too. We'll see, and this did what it needed to if it evoked that reaction.

HIGHLIGHTS:
 • Star Trek VR. I'm not really interested in VR myself, but this looked interesting and appeals to me.
 • The viking-like developer who introduced For Honor. Looked the part so much haha.
 • The Trials of the Blood Dragon trailer. Awesome trailer even if I'll never play it haha.
 • Steep looks very cool, even if I won't play it myself.

TO BUY LIST:
 • South Park: The Fractured But Whole
 • Watch Dogs 2 (though I'm still very skeptical after the first)
#4 PC GAMING SHOW - 5/10
Not bad, not bad at all. The first thing to say is that this was SUCH an improvement over their show last year, and thank god for that as it bored me silly last year. It still needs work, don't get me wrong - they still don't need to be doing segments presenting graphics cards or in homage to the mouse and keyboard - but it was better.

Games wise, nothing really high profile here but there were a few nice things shown off. Not too bad a show overall. Spoiled a bit by the fact that they ran over and I had to miss the end to watch Ubisoft though I have to say.

HIGHLIGHTS:
 • The format. It was such an improvement on last year, which will hopefully help the format last.
 • Seeing Vampyr gameplay, albeit pre-alpha. I did not expect to see anything at all from Vampyr this show beyond the trailer.

TO BUY LIST:
 • Dawn of War 3
 • Tyranny
 • Vampyr
#5 EA - 1/10
I don't really know where to start with this. When you look at the lineup in retrospect (Titanfall, Battlefield, Mass Effect, FIFA, Madden, Fe, Star Wars x3) you might be fooled into thinking it was a pretty good show. It certainly had enough good games there to make a decent show, but they just didn't bother bringing any content.

We got no demos, not even trailers for most of the stuff, just "behind the scenes" videos which, as BD said in Discord, is just code for "we've nothing to show you". The changes to FIFA look mildly interesting but really, when that's the highlight of your press conference you should be pretty ashamed. This was really not a good show from EA.

HIGHLIGHTS:
 • Erm...I guess Peter Moore cracking Liverpool jokes at Mourinho was pretty neat? And the FIFA changes didn't look too bad?

TO BUY LIST:
 • Mass Effect: Andromeda probably, but not because of anything shown here.
#6 NINTENDO - 0/10
This was the absolute worst "press event" that I've ever seen at E3. Sure it wasn't a conference, but it ran for 1 and a half hours. They presented two games. TWO GAMES IN ONE AND A HALF HOURS!!! Pokemon ran WAAAAAAAAY too long, and Zelda looks like it's moved into the graphical era of the year 2000 at last. They both looked terrible.

This was a horrible show. It would have scored higher with me if they hadn't bothered showing up.

HIGHLIGHTS:
 • It ending.

TO BUY LIST:
 • Nothing. I feel like I should be paid for having wasted my time on this.
PICKS OF THE SHOW
My top five from E3 this year are as follows:
#1. Horizon: Zero Dawn (Sony)
#2. South Park: The Fractured But Whole (Ubisoft)
#3. We Happy Few (Microsoft)
#4. Detroit (Sony)
#5. Mafia 3 (Take 2)
In the interest of fairness, since Mafia 3 was not shown at a press conference, if you consider that an unfair pick I'd replace it with God of War (Sony) at #5.

I don't have much to add to what you've written.

The big reveal for me was that in the new Dishonored, you can refuse the Outsider's offer of supernatural powers.

That's not a difficulty choice. That's a story choice.

I hope they have the balls to create a special ending for that choice.

Great writeup mate :)

According to a post on reddit, Sony's conference was supposed to close with a new Red Dead reveal but due to the content of it and the recent Orlando shooting (with not enough time to put a new trailer together), it was decided to pull it. Could be rubbish of course but that seems totally plausible to me and was probably the right thing to do if so. The post did give a date of June 19th too, so maybe we'll get to see it at the end of the week? (although that's a Sunday so...). Guess we'll find out soon! Red Dead was something I was hoping would show up at this E3 so fingers crossed!

Rather than post my top 5 games of show (which I tried to do and it was basically becoming a repeat of what I posted above. Just too much to pick from haha), I'll do this instead:

TOP 4 SURPRISES OF E3
#1. God of War
#2. Resident Evil 7
#3. Death Stranding
#4. Prey

There actually seems to be more to the Resident Evil 7 demo than first meets the eye btw. I did wonder when I played through it once myself (as there was a locked draw I hadn't found a key for and a finger item which I couldn't find a use for), but people on GAF & reddit are really picking through it, trying to unlock its secrets and escape the house alive. We already know it's linked to RE7 of course, but I think it's going to be similar to the P.T. demo of last year. As you may recall, figuring the P.T. demo out ultimately unlocked the cutscene at the end which revealed it to be Silent Hills. It looks like RE7 could be similar to that and it's been really fun following the hunt :D
