For just a moment...

For just a moment... I had the strongest case of nostalgia for NC.

I even went as far as reading up all the patch notes since I left.

I even read the dev logs and all the good stuff about balancing and all that.

Then I came across all the posts about populations and what not...

:smack:

It happened again... The nostalgia I mean.

I even went as far as downloading the client and installing it. Someone save me! :nervous:

Crap, was hoping he hadn't noticed me lurking in the FFXI forums...

Only issue I have with FFXI is that with my summer classes, I don't have much time to invest into leveling. At most, any gaming session is 10-15 min long :smack: Scattered here and there throughout the day. So by the time I get a party going, I'll probably have to leave

 *is discovered*

I subbed for about 3 months back at the beginning of the year w/ a RL friend who's a business major.

We play the game for "free" now due to the allowing of trading ISK for game-time cards.

He does alot of selling/investing (econ 101) and makes a couple hundred million isks a day doing nothing. I make about 100+ mil an hour doing PvE in my Raven.

Haven't played much over the summer as I've been distracted by Planetside and recently Space Cowboy Online (sco.gpotato.com) - space action flying RPG - and it's free.

Got all my EVE character advance skills to lvl 4, so all my skills don't take 14 days to train anymore (usually just 5 days for lvl 5 now) :D

Basics =

Remember how people pay real money for gold in WoW?

Well, same is true here. Replace Money with Gametime cards. CCP doesn't lose out on money, as people have bought thier gametime cards, as opposed to just Isk from some farmer.

They are then allowed to advertise the cards they bough from CCP on the forums, in exchange for whatever they want ingame.

Since it involves paying CCP to obtain the cards, no one gets hurt. :) You may be getting the gametime for free, but somewhere along the line, someone will have payed for it.

No such thing as a free lunch huh.

But that someone will never be me :thumb:

I'll most likely keep EvE "subbed" for as long as CCP continues to offer the isk -> game card trade. With the promised graphics + voice chat upgrades down the road, I figure I'll be able to use a carrier or dreadnaught by then
