Guys, I've been thinking and wondering, do you think we should start planning or perhaps start building up the number of nations in our alliance? Get a few more active and progressive nations into our ranks? Maybe not now, maybe in the near future. So what's the plan?

Yes. I think we should recruit.

I'm on board for recruitment, but utterly novice in such regards. Of all the games I played, I was either in SSC/X or was a loner.

How do we want to go about this? What do we have to offer?

I think we should start by listing down what we have to offer or can afford to offer for now....and identify what we need or want to achieve by getting new nations in....a small start perhaps.

I've been giving this some serious thought for a few weeks now, and I think that we are now properly set up to start some recruiting. However, the problem remains that I am not sure how we should go about it. The usual way alliances recruit people in CN is with mass mailing newly created nations, but I'm not sure if that is what we want to do, since it would make sorting out the good from the bad a lot harder than if we had some sort of method that would attract mostly good people. The big question, of course, is how to go about that. I think the best thing to do would be to have a strong presence on the CN forums, particularly the Open World Forum (OWF), and the Alliance Politics subforum. That's where all the action is. The rest are either for game mechanics discussions or hardcore RPers. Any other suggestions?

Yeah I think its very important we keep the ssx group quality and the only way that can be done is if we go about this correctly.

I agree with Kahn on keeping recruiting to the forums, that way we can clearly lay out what we offer and the sort of people we are, as well as making sure anyone who replies is actually interested and not just swept up in the mass spam of offers as a new player.

Since its such a time-unintensive game, an alternative for finding new countries would be to just recruit people we know to start playing, no?

I agree with Kahn too. We want to maintain or perhaps promote our identity and qualities as an SSX, thus no mass spam of offers. We need to have a clear look of who we are asking, so I guess some personal touch is needed, if you know what I mean.

Based on Kahn's suggestion regarding the OWF and so on, can we take that as a first step? Creating a strong presence in the CN forums, get more ppl to know about us as well as creating a strong interest in the SSX.

As for Inquisitor's idea, we can do that too. Those who have friends and families that play games and have free time too. :thumb:

We all know lots of online peeps who could play. Relational recruiting is my pref for SSX, but I am not opposed to a formal recruitment plan if you want to organize one.

Oh yeah. Falc, I had her send you a trade agreement to get her feet wet since you had an open slot.

Yeah, I think for now that would be a pretty decent approach. For those of you who are active enough to want to pursue a regular presence on the CN boards, it would help if you had some kind of unique avatar, and a link to the SSX in your sig.
