Bohs Miss Valuable Three Points
The Dun Carrig Bohs wasted a golden opportunity to pick up three valuable points in the Segunda Liga tonight as they crashed to a 3-2 loss to Dynamo Dorpat despite leading 2-0 at half time. The result leaves the Bohs looking nervously over their shoulder at the relegation zone, and ramps up the pressure on them to ensure victory at fellow strugglers Estrella Roja next week.
Having come out of the game with 55% of possession and double the shots on target that their opponent had, many were left wondering how the Bohs had thrown it all away during this game, considering they looked a certain bet for the win at half time. Supporters were left frustrated, and manager Lordanubis looked just as baffled during his post-game press conference.
"It's hard to explain." he told reporters when asked for the reasoning behind his side's collapse. "We didn't give them any special instructions at half time beyond to keep doing what they were doing. Perhaps it's just one of those days when luck goes against you, but we do feel very hard done by that's for sure."
"Those three points would have lifted all relegation concerns completely, but now we're left with a critical game next week against Estrella Roja. It's unfortunate, but that's football at times."
Asked for areas he would look to build upon, Lordanubis singled out the defence as his major concern. "It has to be said that when you let in three goals in 45 minutes there's something that needs addressing." he commented, "and it'll be critical that we avoid that sort of defensive performance next week at all costs. Beyond that, there are always minor things we'll tweak - but that defensive record is certainly the major concern."
The Bohs against Roja next week will likely be the one to watch in the Segunda Liga, as both teams scrap to ensure their safe place in the Segunda Liga next season. On paper the Bohs should be firm favourites, but as manager Lordanubis commented tonight: "We need to improve quickly, else this thing could go down to the wire."

Reds Drop Points At Estudiantes
St Helens Reds dropped both two points and two places today after being held away from home by Estudiantes United. The 1-1 draw allowed the Cinncinnati Steamers and Isilington United to capitalise, sending the Reds down into third place in the table. This leaves the Reds in an intriguing position, as next week they travel to meet the Steamers, their local rivals, in a rematch of what can only be described as the biggest upset in sporting history just a few weeks ago, when the Steamers overturned the Reds.
Considering this is only the third time the Reds have dropped points this season, the result took many viewers by surprise. The general consensus was that tactically the Reds had got it spot on, but the game just didn't come together for them as perhaps it should have done. Still, manager Lordanubis did not complain at this, instead paying tribute to the hard working Estudiantes side that had dealt a minor blow to his side's title hopes.
"You have to say well done to the opponent in these situations, as they played very well to deny us the victory we wanted." he told reporters. "We certainly won't let it worry us though, and we'll be back next week to give the Steamers the beating they deserve."
"We'll go up there to Cinncinnati, there'll be thousands of fans looking for a truly great team to get behind. We'll get up there, and they'll roll out the red carpet for us, they'll worship the ground we walk on, and they'll kiss our feet. We'll go out there and grace them with our presence and kill the Steamers right in the center of the pitch, because for those fans that believe - when the heat is on, the Reds will never let you down."
"To be perfectly honest, the people of Cinncinnati don't deserve to watch us play. But to show everybody that I'm a fair man, we're going to go up there regardless and give the Steamers their first home loss of the season, and let the people scream to the high heavens. And at the end of the day, all I have to say is that I'll feel sorry for them when we embarass them next week - because ultimately, we're just too damn good."
A confrontational Press Conference no doubt, but this reporter can firmly say that he believes these words will be put into action next week. Cinncinnati have a frieght train headed for them at full speed, and there's very little they can do about it!
"Perhaps this is what I have always wished for since that day. The loss and destruction of all. That's right, one must destroy before creating. In that case, if my conscience becomes a hindrance to me, then I will simply erase it. I have no other choice but to move forward....therefore!" - Lelouch vi Britannia/Zero, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch
