I preordered ESO. Tried the beta, liked it. Wondering who's going to be playing? Haven't been involved in a big group since our WoW stuff, hoping that we'll have a similar kicking group with Elder. If we're getting a group going, I'll stick with my PC edition, if not, I'll shift to PS4. I'm hoping for the former.
So, who's on board?

I'm on preorder. Currently planning on ambling about with some of my analogue buddies under the 1Pxl banner, but I'm definitely up for a bit of group love.Ozone wrote:I preordered ESO. I'm swinging towards ebonheart, but I'll be on the EU server, which oddly is in the US for now. I'd join the US server, as I never experienced connection issues during beta, but I doubt anyone's going to be online at the same time!

I've been following WildStar myself but I do remember Andy showing interest for ESO early on in the 2014 releases thread, have seen him playing it through steam since then as well so I assume he still is

Cushty.
I went in with no real expectations and was actually happy with it. I haven;t really enjoyed many MMO's. I mostly just tried them out, this however, I'm actually looking forward to. Done a few of the beta weekends, and I'm just waiting for the live release API to go public so I can tweak some of the UI.

Read a preview thingy on Ars, really put me off - it seems the freedom, that one delicious helping of Win Pie that made TES, has vanished in a WoW-esque zoning setup with fixed-level mobs.
Probably just as well, I shouldn't go getting addicted to a new version of TES...

It's zoned. The zones are fairly mahoosive after the starter areas.esd wrote:Read a preview thingy on Ars, really put me off - it seems the freedom, that one delicious helping of Win Pie that made TES, has vanished in a WoW-esque zoning setup with fixed-level mobs.

Open ended. THE SKILLS. OH MY GAWD, THE SKILLS.
Rolled a big bruiser so I'd survive exploring. Decided once I got up to a higher level, that I didn't like that so much. So I respecced my points. Made myself a healer. You can pretty much do what you want with your characters. There are very obvious bonuses and what not for adhering to the norm, but you can be a heavy armoured mage if you so wish.
Crafting is the best system I've seen yet.
It's definitely not Morrowind, Oblivion or skyrim - and it shows, but it's the most enjoyable game I've played in yonks. What I love the most? Ultra Mega Keyboard Commandos are really not liking it. - they haven't found the I win button yet.

I tried it in beta, but can't say I enjoyed it much.
Couldn't get any good flow in the game and didn't like the overall feel of it. It is just a beta, so hopefully things will be better, but I won't get it right at release. Will wait a bit and see how it develops before heading in.

Probably the main problem for me, coz if I was going to play TES multiplayer, I'd want it to be multiplayer MW, O or SkyrimGryphon wrote:It's definitely not Morrowind, Oblivion or skyrim

That's what I'm hoping for the next real TES release. The tech and connections are now there for coop.esd wrote:Probably the main problem for me, coz if I was going to play TES multiplayer, I'd want it to be multiplayer MW, O or SkyrimGryphon wrote:It's definitely not Morrowind, Oblivion or skyrim
ESO definitely fills a lot of the gap though - and the instance dungeons - I can't tell you how much I enjoyed them. Each one is a mini story arc. but there's no way it could stack up against being able to do it skyrim style. Hopefully if it goes to free trial at some point after release we can convince a few people to dive back in. I've been in the beta since the start and some of the invitation weekends have been for lack of a better word - blips.

A few of my old buddies from school ( talk about memory lane) got wind I'd be playing. They run a gaming group, which I've joined. I think they're more hardcore than I am, but I'll be running with them - it'd be a good chance to reconnect.
I think in time, I'd quite like to organise a new part of the SSX family.
EDIT - As a thought though, I have access to both servers. If I'm up late/early and happen to be online, I can't see any major issue with running a couple of avatars on the US server - in fact on weekends, It's not really any issue.
